Australian 7": Y Records/Festival K9100 (1983)
- The sleeve erroneously lists the B-side as 'Inept'.
According to Barry this was the working title for what
became 'Hapax Legomena', chosen because initially everyone
played instruments they couldn't play (Barry: guitar, Carl:
keyboards, Dave: violin). (Subsequently though they
overdubbed percussion (Martyn) and piano (Barry).)
South African 7" promo: Reaction ACT 5 (1983)
- No sleeve so assumed to be a promo. Country of origin not stated
anywhere on record label. B-side listed on record label as
'Inept' but presumed to be 'Hapax Legomena' as above.

live at the London Paris Theatre Studios on one side, and Shriekback

the Shriekback tracks were taken from the 23.10.84 gig. The lineup is,
apparently, Allen/Andrews/Barker/Marsh plus Lu Edmonds.

- 1995 Gigs and beyond...
Shriekback spent 1995 gigging, mostly around London, with the
following lineup: Barry Andrews, Martyn Barker, Lu Edmonds, Mark
Raudva, Simon Edwards. By the end of that year they had an album
basically written, but no record deal.
Since then, apart from remixing Fluke's "Tosh", they have
kept a low public profile, though Barry plays on The Refugees'
"Lovejunk", alongside David Marx and Kevin Wilkinson
(both ex-Restaurant For Dogs), and Kat Evans (who played on
'Sacred City').
Meanwhile Martyn, Lu and Simon have recorded with a number of other
artists (notably Sarah Jane Morris, Joseph Arthur, Murray Lachlan
Young and Alain Bashung). In June 1998 they played with Billy Bragg
at the Fleadh in Finsbury Park, London, and since then they have
been touring as Billy Bragg and the Blokes.
Now, Martyn has had some promo CDs made of the next Shriekback
album... see below.

- The original version of this was a self-produced CD
containing an early version of the album which became 'Naked Apes
& Pond Life'. Only a handful were made, for distribution to
record companies. The final album features different mixes of most
of the songs, the exception being 'Seething' which was later
re-recorded for the mini-album 'Having A Moment'.
